Gunnar Norrman at Fitch-Febvrel Gallery
Art in Review, The New York Times, Friday, April 29, 1983, by Vivien Raynor
A Swedish artist who trained first as a natural scientist, Gunnar Norrman has devoted himself to drypoint engraving for more than 40 years. In these Swedish, French and Portuguese landscapes, the trees and grasses are unruffled, and the water is forever glassy. Compared with Mr. Norrman, the Lumenist Martin John Heade is Franz Kline. This is a must for those who believe craftsmanship is no more.
