Born in 1937 in Westerly, Rhode Island, David Itchkawich holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design. In 1961 he studied in Rome and Florence with the RISD European Honors Program. After working briefly in advertising and illustration, he began devoting himself primarily to the art of etching. He currently lives and works in Maine.
Says Itchkawich, "My work represents invented situations which look believable at first glance. I feel it is almost a test to see whether I can create a believable, interesting situation with a good composition."
